Description
Keeping tension on your timing belt is imperative for keeping everything turning properly. If some slop develops in your belt because of a poor tensioner, the timing set can skip a tooth, causing catastrophic damage and potentially ruining your engine. These replacement can keep everything tight. The belt runs against this tensioner and keeps your belt firmly on the cam gears and crank. It makes sure the no teeth are missed and your engine is running with the correct timing. This piece should be replaced any time that timing service is performed. Why bother neglecting this piece when you may have to reopen the timing set to replace it in the near future?Timing belt service is recommended every 60k miles.Most tensioners purchased from ECS will already include this roller as a part of the tensioner system, so if you are ordering a complete timing belt kit be sure to check what parts you are going to be receiving.
