The throttle body is what contains the throttle plate, and allows air to enter the intake manifold.

This throttle body is a completely electrically controlled unit, which has no throttle cable and is sometimes referred to as a drive-by-wire throttle body.

Just like any electro-mechanical device though, this throttle body can fail leaving your car running very poorly, if at all.

Symptoms of a failed throttle body may include a check engine light, rough running condition, lack of power and poor idle quality.
